Level 2 Business & Administration Apprenticeship

What Does The Qualification Cover? Our Business and Administration Apprenticeships provide learners with skills needed to progress in a business support role. Areas covered include administration, communication, providing reception services, IT skills and specialist areas.

Qualification Gained: The Level 2 Business & Administration Apprenticeship comprises of the following components:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Business & Administration
  • Functional Skills Level 1 in Application of Number, ICT and Communication

Who Is This Qualification Suited For? The Level 2 will suit those who are in or looking to move in to a junior role and want to develop their skills to become a future team leader or business manager. You will gain practical knowledge of more complex administrative support, perhaps supporting meetings and events or retrieving information.

What Are The Entry Requirements? There are no formal entry requirements although candidates should have the ability to manage the requirements of the level of the qualification, candidates will be required to undertake Initial Assessments before starting on programme.

How Many Credits Are Required To Complete Them? The course is made up of a number of Mandatory units supplemented by Optional units. Learners earn credits for each unit enabling them to meet the required number of credits to complete the course candidates have to complete a minimum of 60 credits. Units include: Managing information and producing documents, Supporting Business Events, Contributing to Innovation and Change, Organise and Report Data, Solve Business Problems.

How Is The Qualification Assessed? The assessor will come to the workplace and assist the candidate in portfolio building, planning and observations. All Learners will attend a weekly class.

Do You Need To Be Working To Take The Qualifications? Yes Candidates must be employed in an office setting for at least 30 hours per week andshould earn at least the minimum Apprenticeship salary of £3.30 p/hr and for those aged 19 or over in the first year of their Apprenticeship and applies to time working, plus time spent training that is part of the Apprenticeship.

How Long Will It Take To Complete? The course will L2 businesstake at least 12 months to complete.

What Qualifications Can You Progress To? Candidates can progress on to a Level 3 NVQ in Business & Administration Apprenticeship and other relevant business qualifications.

What Type Of Job Roles Can You Apply For On Completion? The Apprenticeship can help candidates succeed in a support role in any size or type of organisation roles can include secretary, receptionist, Administrator, personal assistant, office supervisor and Office Manager.

What Is The Course Cost? Candidates aged 16-18 will be eligible for Full Funding for the cost of the course. Funding is available for those aged 19 and over please contact us for more information.
