What Does The Qualification Cover?

This is a two day Ofsted approved course which meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework. The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals, including teachers, nursery practitioners and playgroup leaders, looking after young children. The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

Qualification Gained:

12 Hour Paediatric First Aid Training Course accredited by Paediatric First Aid Association.

The course covers the following:

  • First aid kit
  • Action planning
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Asthma and diabetic emergencies
  • Head injuries
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Sprains, strains and fractures
  • Poisoning, bites and stings
  • Foreign objects
  • Childhood conditions

Who Is The Qualification Suited For?

This qualification is suited to people working with younger children - those up to eight years old.

What Are The Entry Requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements.

How Is The Qualification Assessed?

Paediatric First Aid is delivered over 2 days totalling 12 hours.
