Introducing The Level 5 Diploma In Leadership

Chiltern Training are pleased to announce they will now be delivering the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services. This course is for people working as managers and deputy managers in services including Day Nursery, Pre-Schools, Breakfast and After School Clubs. It is a competence-based qualification designed to be assessed in the workplace.

This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to build both managerial and practitioner skills. The key purpose of this qualification is to develop the skills of managers to lead and manage an excellent service that promotes and safeguards the wellbeing of individuals and their development.

The Level 5 Diploma includes units that allow the learner to use and develop systems that promote communication and professional development while championing equality, diversity and inclusion. Throughout the course you will understand how to develop health & safety and risk management policies procedures and practices. To understand child and young person’s development and lead practice that supports positive outcomes for child and young person development. The course will also help you to develop and implement policies and procedures to support the safeguarding of children and young people while being able to lead practice in promoting the well being and resilience of children and young people.

To undertake the Level 5 Diploma you will need to already hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification and be an experienced practitioner in a management role within a childcare setting. All applicants will need to complete an application form, skills scan and interview. There will be monthly teaching sessions, with the qualification taking a year to complete. You will also be observed in the workplace as well as creating a portfolio.
