What Does The Qualification Cover?
Team Leaders play an integral role in supporting organisational objectives. This Team Leading Apprenticeship will cover a wide range of functions including monitoring work, giving feedback, briefing teams, supporting team members, resolving problems, procuring supplies, project management and delivering and improving customer service. The Apprenticeship will provide the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge to develop core competencies including team leadership styles, team dynamics, problem solving, providing support, managing the work of teams and communication techniques.

Who Is This Qualification Suited For?
The Level 2 will suit those who are looking to develop and demonstrate competence as a Team Leader. It is for those who are either looking for work in, or who want to work in the business and professional management sector, intending to return to work after unemployment, already have core occupational competence and knowledge within the sector, but are aspiring to enter a role that involves leading the development and/or performance of a team.
What Are The Entry Requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements although candidates should have the ability to manage the requirements of the level of the qualification. Candidates will be required to undertake the Initial Assessments before confirmation of place on course.
How Many Credits Are Required To Complete Them?
The course is made up of a number of Mandatory units supplemented by Optional units. Learners earn credits for each unit enabling them to meet the required number of credits to complete the course, candidates have to complete a minimum of 40 credits. Units include: manage personal performance and development, communicate work-related information, lead and manage a team, principles of team leading and understand business.
How Is The Qualification Assessed?
The assessor will come to the workplace to observe and assess the learner and assist them in portfolio building and planning. Some teaching will take place in the workplace. All Learners will attend a monthly class.
Do You Need To Be Working To Take The Qualifications?
Yes Candidates must be employed in a setting for at least 30 hours per week andshould earn at least the minimum Apprenticeship salary of £3.30 p/hr and for those aged 19 or over in the first year of their Apprenticeship and applies to time working, plus time spent training that is part of the Apprenticeship.
How Long Will It Take To Complete?
The course will take approximately 12 to 14 months to complete
What Qualifications Can You Progress To?
Candidates may progress from this pathway onto further qualifications specific to their work context. Candidates can progress on to the Level 3 Award in Principles of Management, Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management or the Level 3 Diploma in Management, which is the competencies component of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Management.
What Type Of Job Roles Can You Apply For On Completion?
The Apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate competence as a Team Leader, Section Leader, Floor Leader, Trainee Supervisor, Call Centre Team Manager or Supervisor. Learners may also progress into roles such as Section Manager, Senior Supervisor or Assistant Manager
What Is The Course Cost?
Candidates aged 16-18 will be eligible for Full Funding for the cost of the course. Funding is available for those aged 19 and over please contact the admissions team for more information.
